Kuwaiti security forces have arrested an Asian expatriate on suspicion of drug trafficking in the Khaitan area, authorities confirmed on Tuesday. The arrest was made by officers from the Farwaniya Security Directorate’s Support Patrols following a routine identity check that raised suspicion.

During the stop, officers conducted a search of the individual and discovered several bags containing crystal methamphetamine, locally known as "shabu," which appeared to be packaged for sale and distribution. This finding led to the suspect’s detention and referral to the Drug Control General Department for further investigation.

Security sources indicated that authorities are actively working to trace the origin of the narcotics and identify any potential associates involved in the distribution network. The investigation aims to uncover whether the suspect was operating independently or as part of a larger trafficking operation.

The suspect remains in custody while narcotics officials review his statements and verify the information provided. Legal proceedings are expected to follow once the case is fully developed and additional connections to other individuals in the drug trade are established.
