Aster Clinics, a division of Aster DM Healthcare, has partnered with Dutch salt brand Nezo Salt to launch a breast cancer awareness campaign across the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. The month-long initiative, which runs until October 31, aims to encourage women in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to prioritise breast health and the benefits of early detection.
Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UAE, representing 21.4 percent of all new cancer cases, with 1,030 reported diagnoses. Notably, women in the UAE tend to be diagnosed in their early 40s, approximately a decade earlier than the global average. Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospital & Clinics for the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, emphasised the importance of early detection and timely intervention in improving treatment outcomes, urging women to be vigilant about breast cancer warning signs and to seek prompt medical advice.
As part of the campaign, Nezo Salt is incorporating awareness messages into everyday settings through product sampling, retail displays, in-store activities, and wellness talks organised in collaboration with Aster Clinics. The joint communications will guide women to participating clinics for breast cancer screening.
Aster Clinics is offering free physical breast examinations across all four countries involved in the campaign. Additionally, women can access ultrasound consultations for Dh149 and mammogram consultations for Dh199. Follow-up tests will be recommended by healthcare professionals based on individual clinical assessments.
Interested individuals can register via a QR code included in campaign materials to receive screening vouchers, which will remain valid until December 31, 2026. The initiative seeks to promote regular breast health monitoring and make screening services more accessible within the region.
