Aston Merrygold, former member of the British boy band JLS, has praised his eldest son, Grayson Jax, for showing early signs of star potential. The singer, who is also a father to two younger children, described his eight-year-old as driven and talented, suggesting he may have what it takes to follow in the footsteps of global pop acts like Justin Bieber.
Speaking about his son’s enthusiasm for pursuing his interests, Merrygold emphasized Grayson’s readiness and capability, noting that the boy is already excelling beyond his own early experiences in music. “My oldest is full-on – he’s ready, he wants to do everything. He’s so much better than I ever was. Little Justin Bieber on the way,” he remarked.
In addition to balancing his growing family life with his career, Merrygold has recently teamed up with Bupa Dental Care to promote a children’s audiobook titled The Dentist’s Apprentice. The project aims to help reduce dental anxiety among young children by presenting dental check-ups in a friendly and reassuring manner. Merrygold highlighted the importance of addressing such fears, saying that pent-up anxiety can be detrimental to a child’s overall wellbeing. He explained that dental visits should be understood as routine preventive care rather than a source of stress.
Merrygold is also preparing to return to the stage with JLS for a UK tour comprising eight shows. The tour will conclude in Derby on August 29, marking a significant ongoing chapter for the group as they engage with fans across the country. Meanwhile, Merrygold continues to emphasize the role of fatherhood alongside his musical endeavors.
