Two suspects were apprehended by Mumbai police following an attack on a jeweler in Diva on Wednesday afternoon. The incident took place around noon at Shri Khedadevi Jewelers in Sabegaon, Diva, when two individuals entered the shop and attempted to rob the owner, Shambhusing.
According to authorities, the suspects assaulted Shambhusing with a knife during the attempted robbery. The shop owner sustained minor injuries but managed to resist the attack, which ultimately foiled the suspects’ plan to loot the establishment. Following the failed attempt, the assailants fled the scene and hid in a nearby drainage system for approximately two hours.
Mumbai police conducted a search operation that led to the arrest of the two accused. Law enforcement recovered a pistol and a knife from their possession. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to establish the motive and any additional involvement in the attack. Shambhusing received medical treatment for his minor wounds and is reported to be in stable condition.
