Shaikh Ghosn bin Hilal al Alawi, Chairman of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, presented the authority’s 2025 Annual Report to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Sunday. The report details the results of the authority’s activities during 2025, a year in which it concentrated its resources on fulfilling its national auditing mandate with efficiency and professionalism.
The document underscores the authority’s cooperation with various institutions and community entities to support Oman’s progress toward sustainable development. In line with legal requirements, copies of the report were also submitted to the Council of Ministers, the State Council, and the Majlis Ash’shura. These submissions comply with Article 66 of the Basic Statute of the State, promulgated by Royal Decree No. 6/2021, and Article 29 of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Law, issued through Royal Decree No. 111/2011. Under these provisions, the authority is mandated to prepare an annual report on its activities, which the chairman submits directly to the Sultan and subsequently shares with key government bodies before the close of the financial year.
The report covers a broad spectrum of findings from audits conducted across various government units, public authorities, investments, and companies subject to review, based on the approved 2025 Annual Audit Plan. Its preparation was guided by the objectives outlined in Oman Vision 2040, relevant audit manuals, and international standards set forth by the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). The authority emphasized adherence to principles of comprehensiveness, clarity, conciseness, accuracy, and objectivity throughout the report.
