Federal authorities have arrested two additional suspects in connection with an alleged plot to attack President Donald Trump’s UFC cage-fighting event held at the White House on June 14. The arrests, made in Missouri and Washington state, came after law enforcement officials disrupted the planned attack days before the event.
William Lee Spartacus Falkner of Belfair, Washington, was taken into custody on Friday and charged with conspiracy to commit murder in the Western District of Washington, according to court documents filed Monday. Jordan W. Rincker, 28, was arrested Sunday on similar charges in the Western District of Missouri. Court records do not indicate whether Rincker has secured legal representation, and Falkner’s appointed defense attorney has not responded to requests for comment. Neither suspect has yet entered a plea.
Authorities revealed that the potential threat was identified on June 10, four days prior to the mixed martial arts event staged on the White House South Lawn. The initial investigation led to the arrests of five individuals from various states, including Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, and California. All are facing federal charges related to the conspiracy.
Officials stated that members of the group were motivated by fringe conspiracy theories and aimed to destabilize the government through their planned attack. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche emphasized the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to detect and prevent such threats near the White House.
The Justice Department continues its investigation into the broader network behind the alleged plot, underscoring the challenges authorities face in addressing politically motivated violence linked to extremist beliefs.
