Martin Necas recorded two goals and an assist, and Nathan MacKinnon contributed three assists as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the St. Louis Blues 6-1 on Sunday night in Denver. The victory extends Colorado’s season-opening home winning streak to two games, during which they have scored a total of 14 goals.

In addition to Necas and MacKinnon, Nicolas Roy, Artturi Lehkonen, and Josh Manson each recorded a goal and an assist for the Avalanche. Defenseman Cale Makar also added a goal, helping Colorado build a commanding lead throughout the contest.

Goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood started for Colorado, making 25 saves on 26 shots. Forward Parker Kelly supported the offense by contributing two assists.

The Blues, coming off a 4-0 victory over Dallas just the night before, were hindered by costly mistakes. Jordan Binnington, St. Louis’s starting goalie, stopped 30 of 36 shots but committed two turnovers that directly resulted in Colorado goals. Forward Dalibor Dvorsky scored for St. Louis, marking his second consecutive game with a goal.

The Avalanche’s dominant performance highlights their strong early-season form, while the Blues struggled to maintain momentum following their road win. Sunday’s game was the second half of a back-to-back set for St. Louis, a factor that may have contributed to the team’s difficulties.
