Avro secured a significant first home victory in their inaugural Step 3 campaign with a 2-1 comeback win over Quorn at their Oldham ground. The match, held on Saturday, marked a promising start for the hosts in the Premier Division of Non-League football.

The opening stages saw Avro pressing for an early lead, with Jack Morrow forcing a near miss that clipped the crossbar and the team appealing unsuccessfully for a penalty following a challenge on Ryley Smith inside the box. Despite their pressure, it was Quorn who broke the deadlock when Ethan Bojang converted a cross from the right flank, putting the visitors ahead.

Avro’s first half ended on a frustrating note, with Harry Showman’s potential debut goal ruled out for offside. Quorn had an opportunity to extend their advantage early in the second half but were denied by a well-timed block from Avro defender David Fitzpatrick.

The home side levelled the scores shortly after when Jack Atkinson fired a low, precise shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.
