The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs recently concluded its fourth Qur’an memorisation competition, drawing participation from 544 students representing 144 centres across Qatar. Among the competitors were 78 Qatari nationals.

The event featured five categories based on the extent of memorisation, ranging from five parts to the complete Quran. The competition aims to encourage Quranic study and reinforce Islamic values, aligning with the broader objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Prizes were awarded to the top 20 teams, with amounts ranging from QR20,000 to QR6,250. Additionally, 100 exemplary students received individual awards of QR500 each in recognition of their outstanding performance.

Officials are expected to announce the winning centres early next week. The initiative reflects the ministry’s ongoing commitment to promoting religious education and preserving Islamic traditions within the country.
