The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs’ Department of Islamic Research and Studies has released three volumes of scholarly research examining the influence of the Holy Qur’an on various aspects of civilization. The publications compile 16 peer-reviewed papers originally presented at the inaugural Qur’an and Human Knowledge conference, held in coordination with Qatar University’s Ibn Khaldon Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences.

Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ghanim al-Thani, director of the Department of Research and Islamic Studies, described the series as part of the department’s broader goal to support Qur’anic scholarship and foster projects linking human knowledge with the objectives of revelation. He characterized the Qur’an as a continuing source of knowledge capable of guiding reform and development.

The research covers a wide array of topics spanning intellectual, socioeconomic, and mental health domains. Key themes include theoretical foundations for social reform, the application of meaning-centred therapy within Qur’anic discourse, and approaches to mental healthcare such as psychological first aid. Other studies explore concepts related to human behavior, outreach, and ego inflation psychology.

Economic and justice-related issues also received significant attention. Several papers examine the Qur’anic perspective on establishing a just monetary system and promoting rational economic behavior to support sustainable development. These discussions are aligned with the objectives outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes human development and knowledge as central pillars.

Together, the volumes reflect Awqaf’s commitment to advancing Sharia scholarship and highlighting the relevance of the Qur’an in addressing contemporary challenges. The initiative aims to reinforce the role of Islamic teachings in fostering intellectual growth and societal well-being.
