English National Ballet (ENB) has disclosed a data breach involving its customer contact information following a cyber-security incident at its new customer relations service provider, Beacon CRM. The ballet company announced the breach in a recent communication to affected individuals, explaining that the unauthorized access occurred during the transition to Beacon CRM’s services.

According to ENB, the potentially compromised data includes email addresses, business phone numbers, and business addresses. However, the company emphasized that sensitive information such as passwords and payment details were not accessed. Beacon CRM reportedly informed ENB that it "experienced a cyber security incident involving unauthorized access to its systems" but acted promptly to secure the affected systems and notified relevant authorities.

ENB reassured customers that its website and online services remain operational without disruption. The company expressed regret over the incident and is encouraging those with concerns to reach out for further information. It also advised vigilance in handling unsolicited emails and recommended verifying senders before interacting with any links to mitigate potential phishing risks.

This incident follows a recent wave of cyberattacks impacting public and private sector organizations in the UK. Last month, the Department for Education (DfE) suffered a breach resulting in the exposure of more than 600,000 records, including names, job titles, phone numbers, and email addresses of government officials, school leaders, and university staff. The DfE stated that the breach was swiftly contained and posed a low risk to individuals’ data protection.

In related developments, two members of a cybercrime group regarded as one of the most serious threats to the UK in recent years were sentenced to prison last month for launching a costly attack on Transport for London (TfL), which resulted in losses totaling approximately £39 million. Additionally, the retailer Marks & Spencer was forced to suspend online sales for nearly six weeks following a cyberattack last year, which also disrupted physical store operations.

Beacon CRM has yet to provide a public comment on the incident. ENB continues to monitor the situation as it works with cybersecurity experts to prevent further issues.
