Bank Muscat and Dhofar Insurance Company have entered into a partnership to introduce new digital insurance solutions for customers in Oman. The agreement, formalized in a signing ceremony at Bank Muscat’s headquarters, aims to expand the bank’s digital service offerings by integrating travel and health insurance products through its Internet and Mobile Banking platforms.
The deal was signed by Ahmed Faqir al Bulushi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Banking at Bank Muscat, and Sunil Kohli, Chief Executive Officer of Dhofar Insurance Company, in the presence of senior representatives from both organizations.
Under the agreement, Bank Muscat has launched a travel insurance product designed to provide customers with a convenient and comprehensive coverage option accessible entirely online, eliminating the need for branch visits. The travel insurance package offers protection for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, loss of baggage, personal accidents, and emergency evacuation. It is available in three levels: the Platinum plan offers worldwide coverage, while the Gold and Silver plans exclude coverage for travel to the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan. This tiered structure allows customers to select policies aligned with their specific travel destinations and requirements.
In addition to travel insurance, Bank Muscat is offering new medical insurance solutions tailored to individuals and domestic workers. The individual health insurance plan consists of three coverage packages: Green, Silver, and Gold, with annual limits of Omani Rial (RO) 5,000, RO 10,000, and RO 15,000 respectively. The plans cover both inpatient and outpatient treatment across a broad local and international medical network.
The domestic worker health insurance plan provides up to RO 4,000 in inpatient coverage over a two-year period, alongside outpatient services, all offered at competitive premiums. This product is intended to address the insurance needs of domestic workers in Oman, ensuring access to approved medical networks and comprehensive care.
These new offerings reflect Bank Muscat’s commitment to enhancing its digital banking portfolio and responding to evolving customer needs by providing accessible, efficient insurance solutions through online channels.
