Barnet Football Club has bolstered its squad with the signings of two promising players from the National League system, manager Dean Brennan confirmed on Sunday. The League Two side secured the services of midfielder Isiah Noel-Williams from Hemel Hempstead Town and striker Jack Maskell from Darlington.

Noel-Williams, 23, was instrumental in Hemel Hempstead’s campaign last season, netting eight goals as the team reached the National League South playoffs. The midfielder previously trained with Barnet as a teenager but returned to lower-tier football to continue his development. Brennan emphasized the player’s athleticism and growth during that period, noting that Noel-Williams’ return signals his readiness to compete at a higher level.

“Isiah is a player we’ve been tracking for about four years,” Brennan said. “He first came and trained with us at 18 or 19. We recognized his serious athleticism and power, and the best path for him then was to gain experience elsewhere. He’s done that and now he comes back to us knowing what we’re all about.”

The club also acquired Maskell, 21, for an undisclosed fee. The forward’s rise through the divisions has been noteworthy, having moved from Northern League side Horden CW to Northern Premier League Division One East team Dunston, and then to National League North Darlington. During his time with the Quakers, Maskell scored 23 goals across 77 appearances.

Brennan praised Maskell’s development and impact on the pitch over the past year, saying, “Jack is someone we’ve monitored over the last 12 months and have seen his progression at Darlington and the influence he can have on games through his attributes.”

Both players are expected to provide additional options as Barnet aims to improve its standing in League Two following recent seasons spent building a competitive squad. The signings reflect Brennan’s continued commitment to identifying talent from non-league football and integrating promising players into the professional ranks.
