Barnet striker Jack Maskell has received a three-match suspension after an incident in the team’s 3-1 victory over Bristol Rovers last weekend. Although the on-field officials did not initially penalize Maskell, video footage showed the 22-year-old player striking Bristol Rovers defender Kofi Balmer during the match.

Maskell, who had shown promising form in the first two games of the current season despite serving a suspension for a red card received in his final appearance for Barnet last season against Darlington, will now miss the upcoming fixtures. His ban means he is unavailable for selection until Barnet's game against York City, scheduled for the following Tuesday.

The suspension underscores the growing use of video evidence to address incidents that are missed during live play, reinforcing disciplinary measures in lower league football. Barnet will look to adjust their lineup as they continue their campaign without Maskell for the next three matches.
