Basford United were eliminated from the FA Trophy following a penalty shootout defeat to Bedworth, after the match ended in a goalless draw. The contest remained scoreless through regular time, leading to the decisive spot-kicks.

Bedworth’s Antonio Cristofaro was one of the closest to breaking the deadlock during regulation, advancing into a one-on-one opportunity that was expertly saved by Basford goalkeeper Matt Yates. Basford’s first real chance came late in the first half, when Nat Peters rose to meet a corner with a header that sailed over the crossbar.

In the second half, Basford continued to apply pressure, with Ethan Stewart’s header at the back post narrowly missing the target. Despite these efforts, both teams were unable to find a breakthrough during the 90 minutes.

The match was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout. Basford’s Tristen Thompson-Mathews missed his spot-kick, which proved decisive in the 3-1 shootout loss. This result saw Basford United exit the competition, while Bedworth progressed to the next round.
