The Thayetchaung Township Department of Rural Development inaugurated a Basic Sewing Training Course on August 1 at the department’s meeting hall. The initiative aims to enhance employment opportunities and improve the livelihoods of rural residents within the township.

U Kaung Myat Htet, head of the Township Department of Rural Development, outlined the objectives and anticipated benefits of the program during the opening ceremony. Training materials and learning aids were distributed to the participants as part of the course commencement.

The training will span 46 days, running from August 1 to September 15, and will offer both theoretical and practical lessons in fundamental sewing techniques. The course is provided free of charge, with all necessary training materials supplied to attendees.

A total of 20 women from various villages across Thayetchaung Township are enrolled in the program, which seeks to equip them with skills that can contribute to their economic independence and community development.
