Bath City Football Club is advancing toward a potential change in ownership following unanimous approval from both the club’s board and the Bath City Supporters’ Society for a proposed investment deal valued at approximately £6 million. The agreement, which will now be presented for final approval to all shareholders, involves a group of investors led by entrepreneur Andrew Stalbow.
The investor consortium, which includes Curt Smith—a Bath-born musician and co-founder of the band Tears for Fears who would take on a role as club ambassador—is set to inject funds aimed at strengthening the club’s operations. The funds are intended to support Bath City’s development in the Southern League Premier Division South and lay the groundwork for infrastructure capable of sustaining Football League status.
In a joint statement, Bath City and the supporters’ society highlighted that the investor group brings a diverse range of expertise spanning sport, technology, finance, gaming, healthcare, and consulting sectors. Andrew Stalbow, experienced in mobile games and entertainment industries, is expected to assume the position of full-time club chair if the deal is finalised.
The investment will be directed toward enhancing the club’s facilities at Twerton and deepening engagement with supporters and the wider local community. The deal marks a significant step in Bath City’s ongoing efforts to build a sustainable future and competitive on-field presence. Final confirmation is pending the consent of all shareholders.
