Newcastle United have secured the signing of Ivory Coast winger Bazoumana Touré from German club Hoffenheim. The Premier League club is understood to have paid approximately £42 million to acquire the 20-year-old left-sided attacker, who is expected to fill the role previously held by Anthony Gordon.
Touré expressed enthusiasm about joining Newcastle, describing it as a longtime aspiration to play in England’s top flight for a club of the Magpies’ stature. “It was my dream since I was young to play in the Premier League for a big team like Newcastle,” he said. He added that the club’s environment felt like a family, and he intended to give his best effort daily wearing the club’s shirt.
The winger also conveyed excitement at the prospect of meeting his new teammates, supporters, and staff, as well as playing his first match at Newcastle’s home ground, St James’ Park.
Details regarding Touré’s contract length or further terms were not disclosed at the time of the announcement. The club is expected to integrate the young forward swiftly ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
