Jared Leto, the actor and musician known for his roles in films such as "Dallas Buyers Club" and "House of Gucci," has been accused of sexual misconduct by ten women in a recent BBC documentary. The allegations span from 2002 to 2016, a period during which Leto was in his 30s and 40s, and several of the women were teenagers at the time.

Among the accusations, four women have made claims that, if true, would constitute criminal behavior. One woman said Leto sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom in 2002 when she was 17, describing an incident in which he invited her to his room after meeting at a Las Vegas mall. She alleged that he engaged her in unwanted sexual contact while he was showering. Another woman recounted having sexual relations with Leto at his California home when she was 17, despite her bringing up the age of consent issue, which he allegedly dismissed.

The documentary also includes accounts from women who described being groomed by Leto and receiving repeated sexually explicit phone calls as teenagers. One accuser said she was asked to sign a nondisclosure agreement concerning their relationship, which she declined. Additional testimonies report that Leto frequently contacted young fans with sexual messages or calls, sometimes while touring with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Two men who worked with Leto’s band corroborated these claims, stating that he often invited teenage girls to meet the band backstage or at his residence. One woman said Leto invited her to a concert and after-party in London when she was 19, but she told him she was younger to protect herself; Leto allegedly responded that "age is just a number" and referenced being in Europe.

Leto, now 54, responded to the allegations in a brief statement, categorically denying any misconduct. He said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.” As of now, no criminal charges have been filed against him related to these claims.

The BBC documentary, which aired this week, obscured the faces and changed the names of most accusers to protect their identities. The producers said they corroborated the women’s accounts by reviewing messages, photographs, and testimonies from friends and relatives.

Leto has faced previous scrutiny over his behavior with fans, with reports in past years alleging inappropriate conduct toward young women, all of which he has denied. His career spans acting and music, and he recently appeared as Skeletor in the film "Masters of the Universe." He is also scheduled to tour with Thirty Seconds to Mars in the coming year. The new allegations and the documentary have sparked renewed public attention and discussion regarding his conduct.
