Vivienne Parry, a former presenter of the BBC science program Tomorrow’s World, has initiated a High Court claim seeking compensation over the death of her husband, Tim Joss, following a fatal cycling accident in 2024. Joss, 68, was struck by a vehicle while out buying milk near Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, and died at the scene.

Parry, 70, filed the legal action against 22-year-old driver Kieran Kilminster of Winchester on Wednesday. Kilminster denies allegations of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving. The trial is scheduled for 2028.

According to court documents, Parry has been unable to secure compensation from Kilminster’s insurer in the intervening period. She has expressed financial concerns, including the possibility of having to sell the couple’s 18th-century home to cover costs.

The case highlights ongoing issues related to compensation claims arising from fatal road collisions and the challenges faced by victims’ families when liability remains disputed for extended periods.
