He studied English at the University of Dhaka and accumulated extensive experience working for leading media outlets, including The Daily Star and the BBC, before joining bdnews24.com.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, president of the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party, described Khalidi as a pioneer in the advancement of online and digital journalism in the country. Yasser Khan Choudhury, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, also expressed sorrow over Khalidi’s passing, offering his sympathies to the journalist’s family, colleagues, and acquaintances.
