Previously, Beckham’s practice reps with the starters had been sparse, and he had minimal target opportunities, mainly working with backup quarterback Jameis Winston.

Beckham caught several passes from rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart throughout the session, including a notable reception over the middle as he found a void in zone coverage. The veteran receiver demonstrated effective route running and reliable hands during the drills, signaling his readiness to contribute more significantly. Beckham’s expanded role came partly because of the absence and limited practice involvement of other key receivers: Juju Smith-Schuster did not practice due to knee swelling, while Darius Slayton and rookie Malachi Fields also saw reduced reps.

The receiver rotation has been crowded, which previously limited Beckham’s opportunities. When on the field, he was often assigned deep routes to clear space for underneath targets or experienced passes that were either not directed his way or were overthrown. Nevertheless, both Dart and Winston have made attempts to involve Beckham in their downfield passing game. Dart’s difficulties with consistent completion were evident during practice; he overthrew Beckham on a throw near the goal line on Tuesday.

Despite some inconsistencies, Beckham displayed the explosiveness and route savvy that made him a standout early in his career. Tight end Isaiah Likely praised Beckham’s perseverance and professionalism, noting that the receiver continues to offer the best version of himself while mentoring younger players about navigating the challenges of an NFL career.

Jacksonville head coach John Harbaugh is expected to maintain Beckham’s role as one of the team’s featured receivers, especially as Malik Nabers remains sidelined from full team activities and focused on individual work.

In other camp developments, wide receiver Dalen Cambre had a productive day catching passes from Winston. Winston’s session included an interception in the end zone by Jason Pinnock but also featured a touchdown connection to Ryan Miller. The offense committed four penalties over the first 21 snaps of practice, with false starts attributed to Darnell Mooney, Francis Mauigoa, and Josh Ezeudu, affecting both first- and second-team units.
