Bedford Town secured a place in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time in 17 years after a 2-1 victory over King’s Lynn Town at the Eyrie. The visitors opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Jesse Nwabueze drove into the penalty area from the left before being fouled by T’Sharne Gallimore. Nwabueze converted the resulting penalty, sending goalkeeper Laurie Walker the wrong way.

Five minutes later, Bedford responded swiftly. Following an instinctive save by Walker in a crowded penalty area, Bedford launched a counterattack down the left wing. Eno Nto delivered a low cross into the box, which Louie Kudiabor finished with a precise shot into the bottom right corner to level the score.

Elsewhere, Enfield Town caused an upset by defeating Billericay Town, with Thomas Avgoustidis scoring twice. Enfield created the best early chance when Amrit Bansal-McNulty forced a save from Joe Wright. Billericay’s Elliot Long also tested goalkeeper Dylan Thompson with a deflected effort that Thompson managed to palm away. Near halftime, Shiloh Remy’s shot hit a Billericay player before striking the crossbar.

Billericay took the lead just before the break as Taylor Clark made a run down the right flank, cutting back for Jon Benton, who scored his fourth goal in as many games.

These results highlight competitive early rounds as non-league sides vie for advancement in the prestigious FA Cup competition.
