Bedford Town secured a 3-1 victory over Spennymoor in a National League North fixture held at the Eyrie on Saturday. The match showcased Bedford’s effective counter-attacking strategy, which ultimately overcame a period of Spennymoor dominance in the first half.

Spennymoor began the game strongly, creating several opportunities early on and maintaining possession for much of the opening 30 minutes. However, Bedford’s resilience was rewarded when Eno Nto and Joe Payne combined down the left flank to set up the opening goal. Nto advanced past his marker before delivering a precise cross, which Reece Evans converted with a powerful shot into the upper corner.

Just before the interval, Bedford extended their lead to 2-0 thanks to a goal from Nto. The winger capitalized on a rebound after George Moncur’s left-footed shot was parried, tapping the ball into the net.

A heavy downpour briefly interrupted play in the second half, delaying the restart. Once resumed, Bedford continued their momentum and were awarded a penalty ten minutes after the break. George Moncur earned the spot-kick and confidently converted, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to give Bedford a 3-0 advantage.

Spennymoor responded by pressing forward, and Junior Mundal reduced the deficit with a close-range finish at the near post. Bedford’s defense held firm despite Glen Taylor striking the crossbar late in the match. The Eagles successfully maintained their lead to secure the three points.

This victory marks a positive result for Bedford Town as they continue their campaign in the National League North, while Spennymoor will look to regroup following the defeat.
