Bedworth United delivered a commanding performance at The Oval on Saturday, securing a 6-1 victory over Bourne Town to match their record for the largest winning margin. The triumph highlighted a dominant display from the home side, who took control early in the match.
The scoring opened when Teddy Rowe capitalized on a defensive mistake prompted by debutant Daniele Reka, giving Bedworth a swift advantage. Bourne Town responded with an impressive strike from Lewis Darlington, who equalized with a delicate chip from outside the penalty area.
However, Bedworth quickly regained the lead through Jack Downes in the 26th minute, as he skillfully finished into the bottom left corner. Soon after, Antonio Cristofaro extended the advantage, cementing the home side’s superiority.
Just before halftime, George Dunkley found the corner to put Bedworth four goals ahead. After the break, Dunkley doubled his tally by maneuvering past defenders to score his second, further increasing the margin. Finally, Rowe sealed the scoring when he converted a late penalty, bringing his tally for the game to two and equaling a club record that dates back to 2010.
The result marks a significant achievement for Bedworth United, affirming their offensive capabilities and defensive resilience against Bourne Town in this midweek league fixture.
