Manchester United will keep forward Benjamin Sesko in England for medical evaluation following a recurrence of a shin injury that has sidelined him intermittently since his arrival at the club in August 2025. The 23-year-old striker missed the Premier League match against Fulham on Sunday, which ended in a 1-1 draw, due to the injury flare-up.
Sesko was scheduled to travel to Slovenia for further assessment of the issue, but the club’s medical team plans to conduct the examination at the club’s Carrington training ground. This represents the fourth time Sesko has missed a Slovenia camp since joining Manchester United last season.
United’s interim manager Michael Carrick expressed uncertainty about Sesko’s return to full fitness and availability for upcoming fixtures. “We are not sure with Ben yet. We’re assessing him,” Carrick said. “He definitely wasn’t ready for Fulham. I haven’t really got any more news to give you at this point.”
The injury has plagued Sesko since late last season and also disrupted his preseason preparations earlier in the summer. It remains unclear when the forward will be able to resume competitive play, with Manchester United’s next Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur set for October 10. The club is expected to continue monitoring Sesko’s condition closely ahead of that match.
