Berkhamsted secured a 3-0 victory over Yate Town at the South West Interiors Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a trio of second-half goals. The visitors applied early pressure, with Ruben Bartlett-Antwi forcing a lobbed effort that narrowly missed the target following a misplaced pass.
The first half was marked by both sides struggling to maintain possession. Yate Town came closest to opening the scoring just before the interval when Rex Mannings rose highest to meet a floated cross, but his header sailed over the bar.
The match resumed in a similar, scrappy pattern, but Berkhamsted broke the deadlock in the 57th minute. Jeffery Sekyere found himself unmarked close to goal and converted from close range to give his team the lead. Fifteen minutes later, Berkhamsted extended their advantage through a swift counterattack. Ricardo German advanced down the left flank and fired a low, powerful shot into the far corner.
Berkhamsted sealed the win in the 87th minute when Billie Busari capitalised on a crucial error by Yate Town. A misplaced pass allowed Busari to evade a defender and slot the ball into the bottom corner, securing the three points for Berkhamsted.
