Hunter Biden has revealed that his father, then Vice President Joe Biden, frequently visited him at his crack-filled Washington apartment during his struggle with addiction between 2015 and 2019. Speaking in a recent interview on the addiction recovery podcast Dopey, Hunter Biden described how his father, accompanied by Secret Service agents, would arrive in a discreet motorcade to check on him in person.

The 56-year-old recounted that Joe Biden showed up twice unannounced, knocking on his door to offer support and urge him to seek help. At one point, Hunter was living with a woman he identified only as a drug dealer nicknamed “Bicycles.” Despite Hunter’s repeated excuses and struggles—including grief over the death of his older brother Beau Biden in 2015 and a 2017 divorce from his first wife—his father persisted in reaching out. Hunter described watching six SUVs arrive as Joe Biden approached with his security detail, imploring his son to get clean.

Hunter Biden detailed how, during this period, he was using crack cocaine heavily, writing in his 2021 memoir that he was smoking the drug “every 15 minutes, seven days a week.” After enduring multiple relapses, he said he became drug-free in June 2019.

Joe Biden served as vice president under Barack Obama from January 2009 until January 2017. Hunter Biden’s disclosures come amid a recent resurgence of media appearances by the younger Biden, including interviews on podcasts and shows associated with hard-right and MAGA-affiliated figures. While Hunter Biden has denied intentions to pursue political office, his public engagements have sparked speculation about a possible political career.
