A cyclist sustained serious injuries in a collision with a van at the junction of Tanners Bank and Tynemouth Road in North Shields on Tuesday around midday. Northumbria Police reported that the injured rider was transported by ambulance to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington for treatment. Authorities indicated that the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
