Jonathan Andic, son of Mango founder Isak Andic, is under investigation in connection with his father’s death, which occurred in December 2024 in Spain. The billionaire Isak Andic, 71, died after falling approximately 100 meters while hiking with his son on Mount Montserrat, near Barcelona.

Initially classified as an accident, the case has since taken a new turn. Last month, a judge named Jonathan Andic, 45, a suspect in a homicide inquiry. Investigators have cited evidence suggesting underlying family tensions and potential financial motives as reasons for the renewed investigation.

Audio recordings released by the Catalan radio program El Matí capture Jonathan Andic tearfully pleading for help following the incident. In calls to emergency services, he repeatedly states, “My father has fallen,” and expresses distress over not being able to locate Isak after the fall. Speaking to a nurse en route to the scene, Jonathan says he cannot see his father and confirms the location as Collbató, near where the accident took place.

Jonathan Andic has denied any wrongdoing and has described the allegations as “the gravest, most unjust and unfounded accusation that can be levelled against a person.” Following the announcement of the investigation, he stepped down temporarily as vice chairman of Mango to focus on his legal defense.

The elder Andic was hiking on what has been described as an “easy” trail at the time of the accident. Authorities initially treated the death as accidental, but the development into a homicide investigation highlights significant unanswered questions surrounding the circumstances of his fall.

The investigation remains ongoing as forensic and other evidence is examined, with authorities seeking to clarify both the cause of the fall and the role, if any, of Jonathan Andic. Wealth and family dynamics are reportedly being scrutinized as part of the inquiry.
