Pets at Home and the national charity Blue Cross have launched a summer fundraising campaign aimed at supporting pet owners facing financial difficulties across the United Kingdom. The initiative, which runs from August 10 through August 31, seeks to raise funds and collect donations for Blue Cross’s pet food banks.

Blue Cross operates pet food banks at its locations in Sheffield, Exeter, Newport, Bicester, and Manchester. In addition, the charity collaborates with over 500 food banks nationwide, working alongside Pets at Home to ensure pets continue to receive adequate nutrition even during times of economic hardship.

Customers visiting any of Pets at Home’s more than 450 stores across the UK can contribute by purchasing pet food parcels or making monetary donations to support the program. The effort comes amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures that have made it more difficult for some households to afford pet care.

Chris Burghes, Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross, emphasized the importance of the campaign, stating that no one should have to choose between feeding their family and caring for their pets. He highlighted the vital role pets play as companions and members of the household, often providing significant emotional support.
