Authorities have arrested three men following the discovery of a body inside a suitcase at Borstal Recreation Ground in Rochester, Kent. The remains were found on Friday by families participating in a teddy bear hunt event. Adults who saw the suitcase, reportedly covered in flies, alerted the police.
Two men, aged 27 and 32, were taken into custody on suspicion of murder. A third man, suspected of assisting an offender, has been released on bail. While the victim has not been formally identified, police have informed his next of kin.
Separately, the previous evening, police responded to a reported suspected murder at a location near Clapham Junction, South London. However, no body was found during that investigation. Authorities have not confirmed whether the two incidents are linked. The inquiry remains ongoing.
