Bombardier announced plans to invest $270 million to expand its operations across the United States and create approximately 800 new jobs. The Canadian business-jet manufacturer’s expansion includes increasing its presence in Texas, opening a new service center in Indiana, establishing a learning hub in Kansas, and expanding infrastructure projects in Connecticut.

The announcement comes shortly after President Donald Trump moderated his earlier criticism of Bombardier. Last month, Trump accused the company of treating the U.S. market as a “piggybank” in a post on Truth Social. The president’s initial remarks reflected broader tensions regarding international trade and manufacturing investments in the United States.

Bombardier’s planned investment aims to strengthen its American footprint by enhancing service capabilities and workforce development. The new service center in Indiana is expected to support maintenance and customer service operations, while the Kansas learning hub will focus on training and skill development for employees. Additional projects in Connecticut will further support the company’s infrastructure and production capacity.

By expanding its U.S. operations, Bombardier seeks to reinforce its commitment to the American aviation market amid evolving trade dynamics. The investment is also aligned with efforts to bring more high-skilled manufacturing jobs to the United States. The company did not specify exact timelines for the completion of these initiatives but indicated that hiring and construction activities would commence in the near term.
