Boston Legacy FC will be without starting goalkeeper Casey Murphy for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury. The team announced that Murphy sustained a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament in her right knee and will be placed on the season-ending injury/illness list. She is expected to be ready to return for the start of the 2027 season.

Murphy, 30, joined Boston Legacy FC in December after spending four seasons with the North Carolina Courage. Her contract with the Legacy runs through 2029, with a mutual option for the 2030 season. Since joining the team, Murphy has appeared in 25 matches, posting a 1.60 goals-against average and recording four clean sheets.

In Murphy’s absence, Laurel Ivory has taken over goalkeeping duties, starting two games with a 1-1 record and conceding six goals. The team’s roster also includes goalkeeper Hannah Stambaugh, who remains the only other option behind Ivory.

Boston Legacy FC currently holds an 8-14-5 record. The team is set to play its final home game of the season against Racing Louisville at 8 p.m. Friday at Gillette Stadium. The Legacy will likely look to adjust their strategy in goal as they close out the current campaign without Murphy.
