Bournemouth have secured the signing of Sevilla right-back Juanlu in a deal worth £11.1 million. The 22-year-old, a former Spain Under-21 international, has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club for an initial £9.4 million fee, which could rise by an additional £1.7 million in performance-related add-ons.

Juanlu becomes Bournemouth’s third acquisition of the summer, following the arrivals of centre-back Antonio Silva from Benfica and forward Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche. The club moved to strengthen their right-back position after loaning out Alex Jimenez to Fiorentina for the upcoming season. Jimenez, 21, had been suspended by Bournemouth in May amid controversy over social media posts.

During his time at Sevilla, Juanlu made 109 first-team appearances and was part of Spain’s squad that secured the Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games. His transfer comes as Bournemouth prepare for their first European campaign, with head coach Marco Rose reportedly considering his squad "95 percent complete" ahead of the club’s Europa League fixtures.

The addition of Juanlu reflects Bournemouth’s efforts to solidify their defensive options as they step onto the continental stage while continuing to build a competitive team for the Premier League season.
