Boursa Kuwait closed slightly higher on Wednesday, supported by robust trading volumes across its main segments. The general index increased by 1.09 points, or 0.01 percent, finishing the session at 8,710.75 points.
Overall, the market saw active participation with a total of 279.2 million shares exchanged through 20,682 transactions, amounting to a trading value of 83.4 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately USD 256 million).
The Main Market outperformed other segments, with its index rising by 72.16 points, or 0.83 percent, to reach 8,791.16 points. This segment accounted for 123.3 million shares traded in 9,505 transactions, generating a turnover of 21.9 million dinars (around USD 67.2 million).
In contrast, the Premier Market index declined by 13.96 points, or 0.15 percent, closing at 9,145.71 points. Despite the drop, this segment recorded the highest trading value of the day, with 155.8 million shares traded in 11,177 deals, totaling 61.5 million dinars (approximately USD 227.5 million).
The Main 50 Index showed a modest advance of 1.47 points, or 0.02 percent, ending at 9,682.38 points. It saw 99.6 million shares traded through 6,790 transactions, with a turnover of 17.2 million dinars (about USD 52.8 million).
The session reflected steady investor engagement across Boursa Kuwait’s key market segments, though price movements remained subdued overall.
