Boursa Kuwait has launched the third edition of its financial literacy initiative, “The Bell,” a month-long awareness program running throughout October that aims to enhance public understanding of investment and financial concepts. The initiative brings together six institutions from professional, academic, and investment sectors, including the CFA Institute, CFA Society Kuwait, Gulf Capital Investment Company (InvestGB), Kuwait University, Kuwait Credit Information Network Company (CINET), and the Union of Investment Companies (UIC).

The program seeks to make investment knowledge more accessible by offering interactive sessions, workshops, and digital content designed to connect financial literacy with everyday decision-making and developments in Kuwait’s capital market. This edition emphasizes providing clear, trusted information to help individuals navigate a growing variety of financial products and services, enabling them to better assess risks and opportunities aligned with their goals and financial capabilities.

“The Bell” coincides with the tenth anniversary of World Investor Week, a global investor education and protection campaign led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and supported by the World Federation of Exchanges through its “Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy” initiative. Boursa Kuwait’s participation includes a local program and ongoing educational content available after the conclusion of October’s activities.

Naser Meshari AlSanousi, Senior Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Boursa Kuwait, highlighted the importance of aligning market development with investor knowledge. He stressed that the initiative helps individuals engage with investment opportunities responsibly by providing clear information that supports informed decision-making. AlSanousi also noted a particular focus on young people, students, and entrepreneurs, aiming to link financial awareness with real-world applications and market developments.

Building on themes from previous years, this third edition covers foundational financial concepts such as money management and financial planning, while introducing more specialized topics including exchange-traded funds (ETFs), fixed-income instruments, credit awareness, and entrepreneurship. Early sessions target younger audiences, with panels addressing personal financial responsibility and credit management to help students understand how borrowing decisions affect their futures. Workshops led by the Union of Investment Companies will explore investment products in detail, explaining their characteristics, uses, and risks.

This year’s program also features the launch of the fifth season of “The Bell” podcast in collaboration with CFA Society Kuwait and InvestGB. The podcast offers weekly discussions on investment strategies and market trends in an accessible format, providing continued learning opportunities beyond live events. Additionally, Boursa Kuwait is working with CFA Institute to enhance its online education platform, Boursa Academy, with financial literacy materials that will remain accessible to the public after October.

The collaboration among partners provides a multidimensional approach by combining academic insights, industry expertise, and practical investment knowledge. Kuwait University emphasizes connecting academic learning with practical experience, preparing students for professional life and responsible financial decision-making. CINET focuses on improving credit awareness, particularly among young people, to foster responsible borrowing habits. The CFA Institute and CFA Society Kuwait contribute professional investment education and ethics, while InvestGB and the Union of Investment Companies bring practitioner perspectives on market developments and investment instruments.

“The Bell” forms part of Boursa Kuwait’s broader Corporate Sustainability strategy, aligning with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and partnership. Since its launch in 2024, the initiative has expanded its network and outreach, engaging over 2,000 beneficiaries and reaching millions through digital content.

By providing a comprehensive, continuous learning pathway that integrates live events, digital discussions, and permanent educational resources, Boursa Kuwait aims to promote informed and responsible participation in financial markets across Kuwait’s diverse community of investors, students, and entrepreneurs.
