Bradford Park Avenue secured their progression to the next round with a victory over higher-ranked Lancaster City at Horsfall Stadium. Despite Lancaster applying pressure in the opening half, Bradford Park Avenue maintained a strong defensive stance.
The decisive moment came midway through the first half when Luke Parkin managed to fend off his marker before delivering a precise low shot into the bottom corner of the net. Parkin nearly doubled the lead shortly afterward with an acrobatic attempt that was well blocked by the opposition’s defense.
Lancaster’s keeper, Declan Lambleton, made a notable contribution by pulling off an impressive save from a direct corner, denying Bradford an immediate second goal. The first half concluded with close calls for both sides as Marcus Carver and Robbie Fox each hit the woodwork during added time.
In the second half, Carver continued to pose a threat, nearly extending Bradford's advantage with a lob that struck the crossbar just before the hour mark. Despite Lancaster’s ongoing efforts, they were unable to find an equalizer, allowing Bradford Park Avenue to hold on for a noteworthy upset against the higher-ranked visitors.
