Chinese companies are increasing their presence in Turkiye’s consumer electronics, smart pet care, and security sectors by leveraging technological innovation, local partnerships, and customized services to meet regional demand and pursue broader international markets.

At the 12th International Pet Products, Materials and Accessories Suppliers Exhibition held in Istanbul, the Chinese smart pet care brand Petkit presented a range of products including smart litter boxes, water fountains, and dual-compartment feeders. These devices are designed to identify individual pets and monitor their drinking and toileting habits, assisting owners in tracking their pets’ health. Petkit, which entered the Turkish market nearly five years ago, has expanded its retail footprint through collaborations with local partners. Gao Xiaoqun, overseas business manager for Petkit, noted that the brand's entry into MediaMarkt stores was facilitated by a Turkish partner and serves as a model for the company’s continued expansion into European retail markets.

In the consumer electronics arena, Chinese brands are gaining popularity among Turkish consumers who increasingly prioritize products that combine functionality, design, and reliability. Mustafa Can Akbas, brand marketing director at Huawei’s consumer business group in Turkiye, highlighted that customers are now looking beyond traditional technical specifications and focusing more on practical benefits in daily use. According to industry reports cited, Huawei secured third place in Turkiye’s premium tablet market in the first half of the year, holding an 11 percent market share. The company’s smart wearables and wireless earphones have also frequently ranked at the top of sales charts.

Chinese firms are strengthening their foothold in Turkiye’s security industry as well. At a recent security and fire safety exhibition, Hikvision, a Chinese video surveillance provider, showcased its latest offerings. Lu Ran, general manager of Hikvision’s Turkish subsidiary, emphasized that localized services have been essential to the company’s growth. Since beginning operations in Turkiye around 2005, Hikvision has established offices in Istanbul, Ankara, and other major cities, building a service network in partnership with local businesses. Lu also pointed to Turkiye’s strategic position as a junction between Europe and the Middle East, suggesting that ongoing overseas projects undertaken by Turkish companies could facilitate further market expansion for Hikvision.

Overall, the increasing engagement of Chinese companies in Turkiye reflects a broader trend of cross-border commercial collaboration, driven by innovation and local adaptation in response to evolving consumer and business needs.
