At a wedding held at St Brelade’s Bay Hotel in Jersey, a bride’s engagement ring was unexpectedly lost but later recovered with the help of a local metal detectorist. Abi Clark, 32, and her fiancé Tony Clark, also 32, were exchanging vows when the incident occurred. During the celebration, Abi, a teacher, attempted to swat away a bee while holding the ring in her hand, causing it to slip away.

The ring was promptly reported missing, and guests suggested contacting Steve Andrews, a metal detectorist affiliated with Lost Ring Metal Detecting. Andrews responded quickly and located the ring within ten minutes of beginning his search.

Abi recalled an emotional moment during the wedding reception when guests Callum and Jess announced the recovery. “When we were about to cut our wedding cake, the toastmaster said that our guests Callum and Jess had an announcement. In that moment I knew they had found the ring,” Abi said. She described feeling both emotional and grateful following the discovery.
