Tiphaine Auzière, the 42-year-old daughter of Brigitte Macron, has publicly confirmed her relationship with Antoine Lecomte, a 22-year-old business student and watersports instructor from Lille. The couple’s romance has drawn media attention, partly due to the significant age gap between them, which echoes that of Auzière’s mother and the French president, Emmanuel Macron. The senior Macron couple have a 25-year age difference, while Auzière and Lecomte are separated by 20 years.
The relationship reportedly began this summer in the seaside town of Le Touquet, a long-time holiday destination for the Macron family, where Auzière took eFoil electric surfboarding lessons from Lecomte. Auzière, who manages a law practice with an office in the same resort, shared glimpses of their trip to Amsterdam on social media, including a video showing them at the Faralda Hotel, known for its unique setting inside a former crane at a disused shipyard. Lecomte, who attends the Neoma Business School in northern France, posted the footage with the caption “48h à Dam avec Madame.”
Media reports noted that before her current relationship, Auzière had ended a year-long romance with Cyril Hanouna, a talk show host known for his controversial views, including hard-right political stances. Friends of Auzière described the connection with Lecomte as an immediate match, pointing to shared interests in Le Touquet, travel, entrepreneurship, and thrill-seeking pursuits. Lecomte is said to be developing a kitesurfing equipment company. Auzière has been characterized as independent and focused on personal convictions, much like her mother, according to those close to her.
Auzière is the youngest of Brigitte Macron’s three children from a previous marriage. She is a mother of two children, ages 12 and 10, and has spoken openly about her upbringing, which was marked by public scrutiny when her mother began dating Emmanuel Macron during her own school years. Brigitte Macron was a drama teacher at a Catholic school in Amiens, where Emmanuel Macron was a student. Auzière has described the experience of growing up in that environment as formative, helping her develop resilience and a focus on living independently of public opinion.
In addition to her legal career, Auzière recently released her first novel, "Assizes," which centers on a young lawyer defending a woman who kills her abusive husband.
Auzière has also taken a public role in defending her mother against circulating online conspiracy theories that falsely allege Brigitte Macron’s gender at birth and accuse her of criminal behavior linked to pedophilia claims. She testified in a Paris court last year regarding the harm these false accusations inflicted on her mother’s health. Several individuals were convicted and given suspended sentences and fines for online harassment related to these allegations.
Furthermore, Auzière is expected to provide testimony in a criminal libel case in Delaware, United States, brought by the Macron couple against Candace Owens, a social media influencer who has propagated these unfounded claims through various media including podcasts and books. Owens has sought dismissal of the case, with a ruling anticipated in the near future.
