British actor Stephen Graham is set to appear in the upcoming Apple TV series "Nocturne," which premieres on October 30. In the crime drama, Graham portrays a serial killer, joining a cast led by Liev Schreiber, who plays a homicide detective seeking a quieter life in a small town—only to be drawn into a challenging investigation.

Graham, known for his diverse roles in the United States including portrayals of Al Capone, Baby Face Nelson, and Detective Patrick Mulligan, traces his passion for acting back to his youth in Liverpool. He credits his parents—his father a head pediatric nurse and his mother a social worker—for their early support. Graham recalls that his mother encouraged him to join a drama club when he was young, and by age 14 he became involved with Liverpool’s Everyman Youth Theatre, where he developed a strong affinity for the craft.

Growing up, Graham noted that while many of his peers aspired to professional football careers, his interests lay elsewhere. He described how acting offered a space to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds and communities, all working together toward a common creative goal.

He also acknowledged the encouragement he received from several teachers during his school years, who recognized his enthusiasm and helped foster his determination to pursue acting professionally. Graham's journey from local stages in Liverpool to international screen roles underscores his long-standing commitment to the art form.
