American social media personality Russell Valentin has credited British cuisine and lifestyle changes for his significant weight loss after moving from Chicago to London. Valentin, 32, reported losing nine stone (126 pounds) over 18 months, attributing the transformation to differences in diet and physical activity.

At the time of his relocation, Valentin weighed 21 stone 6 pounds (300 pounds). He described experiencing low energy levels, sleep apnea, and shortness of breath even during minor physical exertion while living in the United States. Upon settling in London, he maintained a similar eating pattern but noticed a marked decline in his weight.

Valentin pointed to the composition of British food as a contributing factor, noting it contains fewer chemicals and additives designed to encourage overeating. He highlighted the reduced presence of high-fructose corn syrup and added sugars in dietary staples as particularly influential in his weight reduction.

In addition to dietary changes, Valentin incorporated daily walking into his routine, averaging 12,000 steps each day. This increased physical activity complemented the dietary differences to support his gradual but sustained weight loss.

Now weighing 12 stone 5 pounds (173 pounds), Valentin described feeling revitalised and more aligned with his true self following the transformation. His experience underscores the potential impact of environmental and lifestyle factors on health outcomes.
