The British Grand Prix will remain on the MotoGP calendar at Silverstone until at least 2028, following a recent extension of the partnership between the circuit and MotoGP organizers. The agreement secures Silverstone’s role as a key venue for international motorcycle racing for the next two seasons.

Silverstone originally returned to MotoGP in 2010 after the event was previously hosted at Donington Park. The circuit has since become a staple in the championship, known for its competitive and unpredictable races. Last year’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone saw a thrilling victory from Marco Bezzecchi, adding to the track’s reputation for close contests.

This year’s race is scheduled to take place this weekend, with expectations high following recent successful events. Stuart Pringle, CEO of Silverstone, stated that the renewed partnership confirms the circuit’s status as the established home of elite international racing.

From the MotoGP side, Group CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta praised Silverstone as a premier racing venue. He highlighted the fact that there have been eleven different winners in the eleven British Grands Prix held at Silverstone, underscoring the high level of competition and the circuit’s challenging nature.

The extension of the contract ensures that Silverstone will continue to be a central part of the MotoGP championship, maintaining its standing among the sport’s most respected and exciting race locations.
