British rapper and social media personality Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known as Yung Filly, has been granted permission to return to the United Kingdom while awaiting a retrial on rape charges in Australia. The decision was made by a judge in Western Australia’s District Court on August 27.

Barrintos, 31, was convicted last month by a jury of assaulting a woman in a Perth hotel room in September 2024. While he was acquitted of three separate rape charges, prosecutors announced plans to retry him on an additional three rape counts for which the jury was unable to reach a verdict.

At a court hearing held yesterday, Judge Linda Black approved revised bail conditions allowing Barrientos to leave Australia and return to London. The conditions require that he remain in the UK until he must return to Perth no later than 10 days prior to the start of the retrial.

Following the upcoming trial, the court will proceed to sentence Barrientos on the assault conviction. The retrial on the unresolved rape charges will determine whether further criminal penalties are imposed.

Barrientos’s case has drawn significant public attention due to his profile as a social media influencer and entertainer. The ongoing legal proceedings highlight the complexities of adjudicating multiple charges arising from the same incident. The retrial date has not yet been publicly announced.
