A British woman was fatally stabbed by a homeless man at a railway station in Bavaria, Germany, in the early hours of Sunday. The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Rebecca Bullock, a pub manager from Whitchurch near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Bullock was admitted to a local hospital in Rosenheim after the attack but succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.

The assailant, a 27-year-old German national, was apprehended at the scene and is currently held in a psychiatric facility on suspicion of murder. Authorities have not yet clarified the motive or circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to reports, Bullock had been traveling to Austria to attend a funeral in support of a friend when the attack occurred. Her employer, the White Swan pub, where she managed operations, paid tribute to her on social media, describing her as “beloved” by both staff and patrons. The pub announced its closure for two days as a mark of respect for Bullock and her family.

Phil Gomm, a Buckinghamshire county councilor, remarked that the local community was deeply affected by her death. He highlighted Bullock’s pivotal role in revitalizing the White Swan, which had been under threat of closure prior to her involvement. Gomm noted she was instrumental in initiating plans to transform the pub into a community hub aimed at enhancing social wellbeing, particularly for the village’s older residents during winter months.

“Every time you went in, she was there to achieve wellness for everybody,” Gomm said, underscoring Bullock’s impact on the community and the loss felt by many. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing as authorities seek to determine further details.
