A Brooklyn woman has been charged with manslaughter after fatally stabbing her boyfriend during a confrontation at her Flatbush apartment early Saturday morning, law enforcement sources reported Monday.

Jennifer Ayala, 36, allegedly stabbed Pedersin Pelissier, also 36, twice in the chest at approximately 6:50 a.m. inside her home on Linden Boulevard near New York Avenue. According to authorities, Ayala told police she acted after enduring three years of physical abuse by Pelissier, and that she felt no one had intervened to help her.

Pelissier had a documented history of domestic violence. Since May 2025, he faced six arrests on charges connected to incidents involving Ayala as the victim. Four of these cases have been sealed. One of the unsealed cases involved an incident where Pelissier reportedly punched Ayala in the forehead at her residence. Another, dated October 10, involved violations of an order of protection during which he allegedly knocked her down, kicked her while she was on the ground, and spat at an arresting officer. A neighbor had called 911 during that episode after hearing screaming, but Ayala declined medical attention. That case was ultimately dismissed.

Following her arrest on Saturday, Ayala reportedly told police she had reached a breaking point. According to a criminal complaint, she stated that after Pelissier continued to physically assault her, she went to the kitchen to retrieve a knife intending initially to “poke” him. She warned him to stop, saying, “Stop or I’m going to kill you,” before stabbing him. Ayala was arraigned late Sunday in Brooklyn Criminal Court on charges of manslaughter and criminal weapon possession. A judge set bail at $50,000, and her attorney, Anthony Zucco of the Legal Aid Society, declined to comment.

Pelissier, who resided in Fort Greene, also had two pending criminal cases in Brooklyn unrelated to Ayala. One stemmed from an alleged assault on July 4 involving an individual over the age of 65, with charges including assault and harassment. The other case involved his arrest on December 16 for allegedly using a firearm during a home invasion robbery a week prior. Court records show that during his arrest for the robbery, Pelissier told police he wanted no further association with Ayala and described her as “bipolar schizophrenic,” stating he had cut ties with her.

Neighbors characterized the couple’s relationship as volatile and toxic. One resident, speaking anonymously, remarked that both had issues and recalled episodes of escalated confrontations, including a recent incident where Pelissier was heard kicking doors. The neighbor suggested the potential for lethal violence was evident, stating, “She was probably going to kill him or he’d kill her.”

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.
