Bruno Mars is set to return to New Zealand next year with a performance at Auckland’s Eden Park on March 13, nearly a decade after his last shows in the country. The concert, part of his record-breaking The Romantic Tour, will follow a series of dates in Australia and features guest appearances by fellow Grammy winners Tyla and Anderson .Paak, who will perform under the alias DJ Pee .Wee.
The event marks the first major concert at Eden Park under new resource consent regulations implemented in April, which permit up to 12 large and 20 medium-sized concerts annually without requiring additional consent. The Government’s $40 million one-off Events Attraction Package is supporting the concert, with Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston highlighting the economic and tourism benefits large-scale events like this bring to local businesses and communities.
Mars, who rose to international prominence in the early 2010s with his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans, last performed in Auckland during his 24K Magic Tour in early 2018. On that occasion, he sold out four shows at Spark Arena, which holds 13,280 people, within minutes. He has also toured New Zealand in 2011 and 2014 with his Doo-Wops & Hooligans and Moonshine Jungle tours.
The Romantic Tour supports Mars’s 2026 album The Romantic, which has reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The tour has set new records for ticket sales, including the largest single-day sales for promoter Live Nation in North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom, as well as a Ticketmaster record with 2.1 million tickets sold in one day.
Over nearly 20 years in the music industry, Mars has sold more than 236 million records worldwide. His recent Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM has been reported to generate millions of dollars per show. Mars also collaborates with Anderson .Paak in the duo Silk Sonic, known for hits such as “Leave The Door Open” and “Skate.”
Tickets for the Auckland concert go on sale to the public on September 4 at 11 a.m. A presale for registered fans will commence earlier, on September 2 at 11 a.m. Further ticketing information is available via BrunoMars.com.
