Over 100 fans of the South Korean pop group BTS gathered recently in Doha to celebrate the birthdays of three band members: Jeon Jungkook, Kim Namjoon (known as RM), and Park Jimin. The event took place at Swiss Cafe within the Swiss Belinn Hotel and was organised by Apobangpo PH-Doha, a Qatar-based fan group dedicated to BTS.

The celebration marked Jungkook’s birthday on September 1, RM’s on September 12, and Jimin’s on October 13, drawing members of the BTS ARMY community from across Qatar. The event was led by Christian Joy Dulalia Rombano, head of Apobangpo PH-Doha, along with former administrator Vicki Isidro. A team of new administrators, including Aseel, Amani, Aiza, Jam, and Princess, also contributed to the planning and execution, with additional support credited to AJ, Thea, and other group members.

Rombano described the gathering’s purpose as fostering connections among various BTS fan communities in Qatar, enabling members to deepen friendships and share their enthusiasm for the band. Apobangpo PH-Doha extended thanks to QatarBTS Army and individual supporter Jhen for their ongoing efforts to build a strong local fan network.

The event received backing from several local businesses and contributors, including Wide Vision, Kusina ng Pinoy, Joel Garcia Photography, PJ Mansur, Emma, Allaine, and LJC Creativs, which provided giveaways and prizes for attendees. Organisers also acknowledged the support of the Swiss Belinn Hotel management and staff, with a special mention of Mr. Oliver for facilitating the venue arrangements.

This gathering underscored the role of fan communities in uniting individuals through shared interests and cultural experiences. For Apobangpo PH-Doha, the celebration was not only a tribute to the three BTS members but also an opportunity to solidify camaraderie within Qatar’s ARMY community. The group announced plans to hold another event in December as part of their ongoing efforts to bring BTS fans together in the region.
