Bukayo Saka remains a fitness concern for England ahead of their upcoming match against Ghana, after he missed a full training session on Sunday. The Arsenal winger has been dealing with an Achilles problem in recent months, which prevented him from starting in England’s opening game of the tournament.
While Saka was not participating in group training at the team’s base in Kansas City, he continued with an individual fitness program. Although he is expected to be available for selection against Ghana on Tuesday, it appears unlikely that he will start the match.
Marcus Rashford, who also came on as a substitute in England’s victory over Croatia despite carrying a sore hamstring, trained with the squad. Both players contributed effectively off the bench in the previous game, and the coaching staff may deploy them in similar roles against Ghana.
Following the win over Croatia, England manager Thomas Tuchel expressed optimism about Saka’s fitness for the final group stage match, stating that the winger would be ready by then. The outcome of the Ghana game will be crucial as England look to secure their position in the tournament’s knockout rounds.
